RE: Traffic Jam in Yellowstone

Hopefully, we'll run into one of those traffic jams. We'll find out soon enough... about 3 days from now. We leave tomorrow morning. :) About the time one of those big guys decides to shake his head when he is next to your vehicle and causes a few $1000 worth of damage; you might think twice about it..

RE: Horseback rides Zion and/or Bryce

We took the half day tour at Bryce a couple years ago. Great time and we saw parts ( of the canyon not the horse) that only on horse back can you see. Ride was down hill on the way back and my knees were hurting; but great ride otherwise.

RE: LaPalma or Bounder

Check the load carrying capacity of the LaPalma. When we were in the market for a gas MH, the LaPalma was a MH that looked like something we really wanted and liked. But the carrying capacity was just way too low. This of course can vary from model to model. AMEN to this, although they both might say Workhorse one could be W-20 or 22 and the other a W24. GCVW means a lot. Tire sizes will give you a hint. 19.5 on smaller chassis and 22.5's on the bigger one. All things being equal; I'd look hard at the LaPalma first.

RE: Fueling up at Flying J

I just heard today from someone who uses the reward card and they told me that Flying J cuts you off from receiving credit when you hit $100.00 paid for gas. Heck for me that's one trip. Said they sent a letter to Flying J about it......still waiting for an answer.:B Swipe the card again and pump another $100.

RE: BrakeBuddy and Saturn Ion

Easy enough. Pull the fuse and check the outlet. I would expect them to be on different circuts. SEEMS REASONABLE TO ME.........

RE: 4 down vs dolly

I never knew how miserable I was until I got rid of the tow dolly and went to 4 down......Life is good now...... As far as brakes go.. you do what you think is safe for you...don't listen to the rest of us...on that subject.......

RE: Best way to park MH during hurricane?

When any hurricane passes through an area the winds come from all directions over the time it passes through. Being on the right side of the eye is the best place if there is a best place.

RE: Running from Fay or staying put?

As long as there is time to move ; I would move. I stayed a few years ago when "Charlie" went thru and $50,000 in repairs later, we were RV'ing again.........

RE: Insurance-from GMAC to AARP/HARTFORD

Not everyone's driving record and credit ratings are the same ; consequently not all insurance companies look at all of us equally....

RE: Test drive

For as many bad salesman stories, there are the same number of abusive customer stories. 80 mile test drive and wanting to keep the MH away from the dealership for a day or 2 without some security for the dealer, seems unreasonable to me. A 15-20 mile drive coupled with testing MH at the dealers lot seems more reasonable to me.

RE: Tow Dolly Question

As long as there is clearance, then an inch is as good as a foot. If the lights on the dolly work and can be seen along with the lights from the MH; why add magnetic lights? Aren't lights lights?

RE: What would you do??

I would sit and wait. No sense risking a big scene with someone who doesn't have any common sense.......You aren't going to educate those folks.
